[Makeup] Too Cool for School

Didn't get to buy clothes during my Korea trip as they're all selling winter clothes that prepare you for negative Celsius =.= This makes me wanna travel there again during Summer..

Since I couldn't get any nice clothes, I splurged... no..no.. I mean I spent rationally on cosmetics and skincare products =P Among so many cosmetics brands in Korea, I spent most of my $$ on Too Cool for School (in terms of make-up stuff) because their designs are literally TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL. And another reason is that it's not available in Singapore and Malaysia! I like to be exclusive! Hehe.. Unlike other brands which focus on beauty masks (too many tourists deem beauty masks as their 'national treasures' and a must-buy), Too Cool for School focuses on make-up items and they do not use any celebrities for advertising. Guess this also helps them to differentiate themselves from their competitors. Good brand positioning, right?

Now, look at the packaging!!
How to stop one from buying them!?
p/s: It's as easy as ABC to market anything to me- as long as the packaging is nice, I will buy..
**guilty face

Yes, what you saw is the packaging for eye liners! My sis thought it's a card when she first saw it. Cute to the max right??

Even the back of the packaging is cute! And the 'all mine' sticker to replace the boring 'paid' sticker that we usually see! Ouch... Look at the pictures make me wanna shop there again =x

And the actual product::
It can be use as eye liner or eye shadow. The outer looks like plastic and those 'twist' types of eye liners but it's actually a pencil type, which you need to sharpen it with sharpener.

And I bought 6 lip sticks/lip gross, 2 for each type
(don't ask me how many mouths/lips I have.. we can always keep them first =x)

Love this color VERY much! It reminds me of Barbie <3 <3

Milk tint- I don't really know how to describe the texture other than using the word 'tint' =x I bought it because the color is sweet and the effect is really long lasting. The sales girl demonstrated the effect to me by trying to wipe it off after it dries up on the skin. And of course, she failed to wipe it off, that's why I bought 2 =x

This is called Bad Girl Good Girl! Cute name and beautiful color!
Warning: It's super glossy...

I'm now using the Faceshop Whitening Dual BB Cream, the effect is actually quite nice (non-sticky and long lasting) but I've just got to get this! Black packaging for BB cream is so new to me =S

Other than these, I also got Body Scrub and some eye masks =)
The items I bought are of the same prices listed on the official website. Of course, I got A LOT of free samples from the shop and tax refund =D
I strongly recommend this brand! So don't miss out when you're there! <3

[Random] You know your partner hates you when...

I started my new year by travelling to Korea for 10 days, a very good way to start a new year =) And it snowed quite heavily on the very 1st day!! I was soooo excited to see snow, k? Not that I never see snow before, but snowING! Not like raining (so uncool =x) And it only snowed once throughout my 10-day trip, so count myself lucky! It's also very cold there, 0c was the highest temperature. Can you imagine?? The lowest was -16c... I think I nearly died there =x And without fail, I was sick due to the low temperature.. Winter virus certainly is my best friend... =( Luckily, I recovered within 2 days =)

Initially I was very excited about the trip, partly because I can take nice pictures. In snow. Not that we can see snow everyday, right?? BUT it's soooooo cold that I didn't bother to take out my gloves to take out the camera from the bag to take photos.. lol. I felt my fingers freezing every time I removed my gloves. So we took very very little photos, like 300+ for 10days? And some are repeated.. You might be thinking what have all I said to do with the title of this post-- it's RELATED, and I am not out of the topic, yet =x So with the little photos, I surely hope most, if not all, are nice photos, right? Actually, I didn't expect any bad photos. How you define bad photos? My definition: wrong angle (e.g. doesn't include the whole main thing/building you want to take), I am not smiling happily, prettily, or simply, I look UGLY. And being in such a cold weather, I didn't bother to check every single photo after taking.. And it turned out to be a tragedy-- NONE OF THE PICTURES WITH ME ALONE INSIDE CAN BE USED!THEY ARE ALL BAD PHOTOS! Yes, all. ALL. What I can conclude from these photos is that my bf hates me, he doesn't want me to be pretty (not even in photos), he wants me to be ugly forever (since the ways I look in photos are permanent) or worse, he doesn't bother or even hates to help me taking photos or he simply hates to see me..
My words are too strong? See the evidence below...  (All photos shown are BEFORE editing)

He said we must take the words 'Seoul Station'. As a normal person, I took one with both English and Korean. And come on, we are in Korea, of course we include 'Seoul Station' in Korean right?? Why is mine cropped then?? ='(

Was snowing quite heavily in the evening. The scene is outside of our guest house. We were so happy that we were there at the right time and he found a good place (beside the street lamp post) for us to take very 'drama' photos.. So the foci were the light and the snow and the person. Guess that's my foci.. For him, they might be me and the broom beside me ='(( Here goes my very 'dramatic' photo..

We went to the largest fish market in Seoul and had to crossed this bridge. Came across a very tall building (dunno what building is =x) and decided to take pictures.. I look sooooo tiny in the picture.. And his excuse reason is that I am short!!! I AM SHORT!! YES, I am SHORT but you can make me look TALLER in photos you know... ='(((

Photos taken at gyeongbokgung palace. I still asked him nicely to adjust his coat so the hoodie wouldn't be out of the board k... And mister, why are my eyes closing in this picture?? Queen doesn't sleep while she is standing you know?

Finally a decent photo taken at Nami Island. See, when you give me a decent photo, I will repay you with an excellent one- a jump shot! with you smiling happily and your eyes wide open!

Any girls out there can feel me now? This is the reason why I never post any photos taken in Korea for the past month..'cause I simply don't have nice photos worth posting =(

I can imagine him shouting:" You don't need to be a great photographer, just bring along a great one with you!"

[Fashion] What I want for CNY

I want something very 'LADY' and SWEET and GORGEOUS for the coming Chinese New Year! Hahahaha... I think I am day dreaming 'coz dresses that fulfill the above requirements usually come with very unfriendly pricing.. And usually look nice only on tall and slender girls ='( BUT we can always day dream right? =)

Here's my dream (or maybe my plan =x) ::

Pearly white + pink
Get pretty and sweet for reunion dinner and 大年初一 ! =))

elegant chinese new year

Pearly white + gold
Have simple yet gorgeous set for new year gathering.
Guess it's also suitable to wear to office during new year?
How about GOLD for this CNY?

White + navy blue
And my perfect set for new year visits, especially on a sunny afternoon.
** Tell mummy I am wearing 'gold' necklace if she disapproves the color scheme! Hehe..

Marine afternoon

That's all I have in mind for now.
How about you?
Any idea what to wear during CNY yet? =)

[Holiday] Taipei '12 (4)

Last post on Taipei trip. All photos were taken on Day 6, it's also Christmas eve.

Started the day at zhongxiao area again (ended there also =x)!

Visited taiwan host, Xiao S's husband's bakery. Thought it was popular because of Xiao S's popularity but I was totally wrong! The breads are seriously delicious and they're sold out pretty fast. You can actually order all types of bread using the order form provided. Not only that, they also post a schedule telling you at what time certain types of breads will be ready! Can imagine how popular and fast selling the breads are now?

Shopping at SOGO, thought the cute clothes are for kids, only realised they are for pets when I had a closer look.
I am not really a pet lover but imagining a poodle dresses up as Winnie the Pooh makes me smile =)

Can't remember what we had for lunch but we went for tea break while waiting for Christmas eve dinner.. How not to be fat?? **extremely guilty now..
Reading some arty farty Japanese magazines provided in the cafe..

Baffi, an Italian restaurant where we had our Christmas eve dinner. It's just opposite Love Lovely. There's quite a few nice eating places (at least nice exretior design =x) around that area, so do explore if you can't make up your mind on what to eat; you might discover some unexpectedly nice restaurants =)

Warning:: The food serving is HUGE!
We ordered creamy soup for one but it is definitely enough for 4! Yes, it's a POT of creamy soup =S

Crispy looooooooong bread stick, served with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We never try this dip before, it's quite interesting. I heard it's usually served in quality Italian restaurants, I must be very suaku ='( Can any knowledgeable, kind soul enlighten me why the dip is used?

Truffled potato wedges served with tartar sauce alike. What's special is not only do they use truffle oil, they also use real truffle. Simply yummy!

I can't remember the name of this dish =x Not sure is penne zita or pennoni as it's much much bigger than normal penne. It's served with tomato sauce and chicken if not wrong =xx
The portion doesn't look large in the picture but the plate is at least 12 inch wide! Yes, like your foot-long Subway sandwich..@@

Conchiglioni (shell pasta) in creamy sauce with salmon. The pasta here are all HUGE, around 2" each!! Unlike those shell pasta (conchigliette) that we usually see in Singapore, conchiglioni is big enough to stuff  some meat inside (like Chinese dumpling?)!

Roasted whole spring chicken. Maybe because of the carbohydrate in all the pasta, we like this dish the most.

The herbs stuffed inside the chicken help to add flavor from the inside.

And we ended the dinner with TIRAMISU! It's 1 serving that we ordered BUT the size is around 6"x 6". And it's really moist and rich with alcohol!! I SWEAR IT'S OMG-DELICIOUS! I should have skipped the main dish and had this straight away! Just think of it make me salivate =x

End the post with the pictures I took in the restaurant's ladies.. hehe.. The design is simply elegant!

And they provide Aesop! And cotton pad! And dry cotton bud! And wet cotton bud! How can they be so thoughtful??

And this is what I saw on the cubicle wall! No one saw me looking at this poster but I could feel my face reddened.. hehe...But think of it, the guy is quite handsome and well-built, right?? =P

[Holiday] Taipei '12 (3)

This is the 2nd last part of Taipei trip as I didn't take many photos after day 3. Yes, I was too busy indulging myself in shopping and gaining weight.. hehe...
It's all about FOOD! So please do not continue reading if you are hungry... =p

Momi & Toy's- a crepe booth that can be found in various food galleries in Taipei. As advertised, they serve crepe that MELT in your mouth! No kidding, the crepe is heavenly soft and the filling is fresh as well. What we tried at the shop when we first patronize was actually their steam potato with butter, as you can see from the photo, it's their '招牌' (signature). The cream which looks like ice-cream is whipped butter. It goes really well with the steamed potato. It's soooo nice that we decided to order again when we we saw it in another shopping mall. And of course, we ordered the super delicious crepe as well =)

Chance upon this cafe which serves coffee in a very professional manner. Their menu includes whatever you can't find in Starbucks =x Bet the owner is a coffee connoisseur.

Ice drip coffee served with milk and coffee ice cube- a drink for coffee lover but not coffee newbie as it tastes extremely like.. hmm... real coffee?  =x

Salted XXX coffee (Sorry but I can't remember the name)- the idea is similar to Koi's green tea macchiato though

How they served coffee-  brewed every cup of coffee individually and pour into cup in front of you! The coffee is just so... 'fresh' =p

Went to 牛魔王 at shida (师大) night market for dinner. They have 2 branches at the night market itself. One is a stall w/o air-conditioned (the price is slightly cheaper if not wrong) and the other is a newly opened shop with air-conditioned.

Potato salad and mushroom soup that come with the main dish.

They are famous for their steak but I am not a beef lover so we ordered chicken and prawn 'steak'. They literally named them 鸡排 and 虾排. They are all served with noodle (more like udon for me).

Can't really see the prawns here- they are all under the egg

And end the post with a photo of my FAVOURITE cheesie potato from shihlin (士林) night market!
