[Life] Dinner at Cocotte, Wanderlust Hotel

Went to Cocotte @ Wanderlust Hotel for dinner. It's a french restaurant. The hotel design is lovely and the food is great! =) The only part that's not so great is its location- it's near to Little India, thus very crowded and hard to find a parking space. Luckily, they provide complimentary valet service (don't get cheated by the uncle if he asked for 5 bucks service charge! it's absolutely FREE)

The reception

A big round table that can sit at least 10. Good for gathering.

Weekly promotion/special is shown on the board.

Wine- essential for French dinner?

The most important part in every meal- dessert!

Resting area beside the restaurant::

The meal::

Cute petite french bread

Soup which I forgot the name

Poulet (chicken) with creamy sauce, crispy potato and baked broccoli

Tender fish with fresh veg

Pork with very juicy meat

AND dessert!!
Citron tart

Apple Strudel

Verdict:: Great meal. Definitely worth going back =)

[Holiday] Taipei '12 (4)

Last post on Taipei trip. All photos were taken on Day 6, it's also Christmas eve.

Started the day at zhongxiao area again (ended there also =x)!

Visited taiwan host, Xiao S's husband's bakery. Thought it was popular because of Xiao S's popularity but I was totally wrong! The breads are seriously delicious and they're sold out pretty fast. You can actually order all types of bread using the order form provided. Not only that, they also post a schedule telling you at what time certain types of breads will be ready! Can imagine how popular and fast selling the breads are now?

Shopping at SOGO, thought the cute clothes are for kids, only realised they are for pets when I had a closer look.
I am not really a pet lover but imagining a poodle dresses up as Winnie the Pooh makes me smile =)

Can't remember what we had for lunch but we went for tea break while waiting for Christmas eve dinner.. How not to be fat?? **extremely guilty now..
Reading some arty farty Japanese magazines provided in the cafe..

Baffi, an Italian restaurant where we had our Christmas eve dinner. It's just opposite Love Lovely. There's quite a few nice eating places (at least nice exretior design =x) around that area, so do explore if you can't make up your mind on what to eat; you might discover some unexpectedly nice restaurants =)

Warning:: The food serving is HUGE!
We ordered creamy soup for one but it is definitely enough for 4! Yes, it's a POT of creamy soup =S

Crispy looooooooong bread stick, served with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We never try this dip before, it's quite interesting. I heard it's usually served in quality Italian restaurants, I must be very suaku ='( Can any knowledgeable, kind soul enlighten me why the dip is used?

Truffled potato wedges served with tartar sauce alike. What's special is not only do they use truffle oil, they also use real truffle. Simply yummy!

I can't remember the name of this dish =x Not sure is penne zita or pennoni as it's much much bigger than normal penne. It's served with tomato sauce and chicken if not wrong =xx
The portion doesn't look large in the picture but the plate is at least 12 inch wide! Yes, like your foot-long Subway sandwich..@@

Conchiglioni (shell pasta) in creamy sauce with salmon. The pasta here are all HUGE, around 2" each!! Unlike those shell pasta (conchigliette) that we usually see in Singapore, conchiglioni is big enough to stuff  some meat inside (like Chinese dumpling?)!

Roasted whole spring chicken. Maybe because of the carbohydrate in all the pasta, we like this dish the most.

The herbs stuffed inside the chicken help to add flavor from the inside.

And we ended the dinner with TIRAMISU! It's 1 serving that we ordered BUT the size is around 6"x 6". And it's really moist and rich with alcohol!! I SWEAR IT'S OMG-DELICIOUS! I should have skipped the main dish and had this straight away! Just think of it make me salivate =x

End the post with the pictures I took in the restaurant's ladies.. hehe.. The design is simply elegant!

And they provide Aesop! And cotton pad! And dry cotton bud! And wet cotton bud! How can they be so thoughtful??

And this is what I saw on the cubicle wall! No one saw me looking at this poster but I could feel my face reddened.. hehe...But think of it, the guy is quite handsome and well-built, right?? =P

[Holiday] Taipei '12 (3)

This is the 2nd last part of Taipei trip as I didn't take many photos after day 3. Yes, I was too busy indulging myself in shopping and gaining weight.. hehe...
It's all about FOOD! So please do not continue reading if you are hungry... =p

Momi & Toy's- a crepe booth that can be found in various food galleries in Taipei. As advertised, they serve crepe that MELT in your mouth! No kidding, the crepe is heavenly soft and the filling is fresh as well. What we tried at the shop when we first patronize was actually their steam potato with butter, as you can see from the photo, it's their '招牌' (signature). The cream which looks like ice-cream is whipped butter. It goes really well with the steamed potato. It's soooo nice that we decided to order again when we we saw it in another shopping mall. And of course, we ordered the super delicious crepe as well =)

Chance upon this cafe which serves coffee in a very professional manner. Their menu includes whatever you can't find in Starbucks =x Bet the owner is a coffee connoisseur.

Ice drip coffee served with milk and coffee ice cube- a drink for coffee lover but not coffee newbie as it tastes extremely like.. hmm... real coffee?  =x

Salted XXX coffee (Sorry but I can't remember the name)- the idea is similar to Koi's green tea macchiato though

How they served coffee-  brewed every cup of coffee individually and pour into cup in front of you! The coffee is just so... 'fresh' =p

Went to 牛魔王 at shida (师大) night market for dinner. They have 2 branches at the night market itself. One is a stall w/o air-conditioned (the price is slightly cheaper if not wrong) and the other is a newly opened shop with air-conditioned.

Potato salad and mushroom soup that come with the main dish.

They are famous for their steak but I am not a beef lover so we ordered chicken and prawn 'steak'. They literally named them 鸡排 and 虾排. They are all served with noodle (more like udon for me).

Can't really see the prawns here- they are all under the egg

And end the post with a photo of my FAVOURITE cheesie potato from shihlin (士林) night market!
